I finally moved to my new place, where I will be staying for the next 5 months. The building is a bit old, but the rooms are great.

That really brings back memories! I was there 10 years before you were, but from your balcony view our rooms must have been close to each other. I was on the ground floor, but I seem to remember that even that was a little off the ground level for the back yard.
